Mechanical Engineer Milan Jekičić: I Would Recommend a Job at “Orao” to Every Young Person – a Company with Outstanding Experts

“I graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Banja Luka, and toward the end of my studies I was contacted by the employment bureau, which informed me that ‘Orao’ was interested in my profession and invited me to join the company. I started working here in 2017. Over time, I held several positions through which I gained valuable experience, and today I serve as the Head of the Department for Aggregate Repair and Testing,” says Milan Jekičić, a young engineer who proudly emphasizes that he is part of Bijeljina-based “Orao”.

Jekičić began his career in this company—whose core activity is the overhaul of aircraft engines—as a technologist for the repair of oil system aggregates within the Aggregates Department. He spent four years in that role and, as he explains, acquired fundamental knowledge about aviation processes and standards.

“The next position I was assigned to was technologist for the repair of air and fuel system aggregates, where I gained additional knowledge. Afterwards, I was given the opportunity to become a lead technologist, which allowed me to integrate everything I had learned at the university with the experience I had gained at ‘Orao’. Naturally, this also meant greater responsibility in organizing overhaul processes. Today, I serve as the Head of the Department for Aggregate Repair and Testing, which shows that I have successfully progressed through all stages of professional development,” Jekičić notes.

His working day begins with a meeting with the heads of other departments, during which they review daily plans, discuss operational challenges, and define specific objectives in advance.

“The overhaul of turbojet engines is a complex task, and it is essential that the entire system functions properly. I receive timely reports on the previous day’s activities, we assess whether everything proceeded smoothly, and discuss how to resolve any unexpected issues or approach certain tasks differently. I am also actively present in the workshop and directly involved in the overhaul process, because it is important for engineers to experience the working environment and maintain close contact with their colleagues. This is how knowledge is gained and mutual respect is built,” emphasizes Jekičić.

According to him, the company “Orao” has primarily enabled him to develop as a person and, at the same time, as a professional in his field.

“I believe that today anyone who truly wants to work can secure a livelihood almost anywhere. However, the question is whether they will be satisfied with the working environment, their colleagues, and the knowledge the organization provides. In that respect, ‘Orao’ has given me everything—from a job in my profession to various training programs, participation in teams, business trips, and trade fairs. And what is very important—they did not expect me to know everything immediately; they expected me to learn, work, and grow, while my colleagues have always been supportive,” concludes Milan Jekičić.
