Bojana Lukić, MSc in Chemical Engineering and Technology: “Orao” Provided Me with Employment and Opportunities for Professional Growth
Bojana Lukić from Lopare, who holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology, is employed at the Turbojet Aircraft Engine Overhaul Company “Orao,” which provided her with the opportunity to establish permanent employment and to perform daily tasks across various departments, apply her knowledge, and gain new professional experience.
Lukić emphasizes that chemical engineering closely connects science and practice, and that her role as a technologist for chemical processes and environmental protection is to ensure that these processes at “Orao” are carried out efficiently, reliably, and safely.
“Our ultimate goal is to obtain a high-quality product while applying all safety measures. My responsibilities at ‘Orao’ vary from day to day; the work is generally dynamic and challenging. I oversee chemical processes in the Washing and Galvanization departments and monitor painting technologies within the Overhaul sector,” Bojana explains.
She also notes that her job responsibilities include preparing work orders, operation cards, and instructions, enabling operators to clearly understand the steps required in each process.
“I am happy that I managed to establish my place as a chemist in a company dominated by mechanical engineers. I would not have achieved this without the sincere support of my colleagues at ‘Orao,’ who shared their knowledge with me, helped me, and made me feel like part of a close-knit family during these three years of work,” Lukić emphasizes.
At the Bijeljina-based company “Orao,” Bojana also completed the experimental part of her master’s thesis on the topic ‘Anodic Oxidation of Aluminum Alloys in Sulfuric Acid,’ which opened the door to new experiences in the fields of aviation and the chemical industry.
“I participate in various audits conducted by international aviation companies, and each time I learn something new, which further builds my confidence. Through conferences, I meet experts from related fields, attend trade fairs, and exchange knowledge. In this respect, ‘Orao’ is a company that is open to young professionals and provides them with opportunities for advancement,” Bojana added.
The company “Orao” was founded in 1944 in Pančevo and has gone through all phases of development of its core activity—aircraft engine overhaul. Today, it represents a highly organized system equipped with state-of-the-art technology and strong human resources, capable of manufacturing and overhauling turbojet engines of all types.
